Mousse Végétale is a non-ionic surfactant or co-surfactant particularly appreciated for the formulation of gentle cleansing and foaming products, such as shower gels, shampoos or make-up remover foams. Natural and environmentally-friendly, it is suitable for all skin types, including the most sensitive. It works by encouraging the mixing of immiscible ingredients, such as water and oil, while producing a pleasant lather. Versatile, it can easily be combined with other surfactants to enhance the texture and foaming properties of homemade cosmetic formulations.

Origin

Of plant origin, Mousse Végétale is obtained from :

  • Fatty alcohols derived from coconut and palm kernel oils.
  • Glucose derived from corn.

Properties

  • Non-ionic surfactant or co-surfactant: boosts the cleansing and foaming power of a mixture, alone or combined with a main surfactant.
  • Excellent foam booster: generates abundant, gentle foam.
  • Environmentally-friendly and gentle on the skin.

Uses

Mousse Végétale can be incorporated into a variety of cosmetic products:

  • Shower gels
  • Intimate hygiene gels
  • Foaming cleansing gels
  • Foaming baths
  • Shampoos
  • Cleansing lotions (less than 3% dosage)
  • Cleansing milks (dosage below 3%)

Dosage

  • Recommended dosage: 1% to 30%, depending on application.
  • To be incorporated at room temperature, either in the aqueous phase or in the final phase of an emulsion.

PH adjustment

  • Mousse Végétale has a basic pH.
  • Adjust the product's final pH to between 5 and 7 using pH test strips.
  • If necessary, add 0.1% to 0.2% citric acid crystals to lower the pH.

Storage

  • Close bottle tightly after use.
  • Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C.
  • Use within 12 months of opening.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Packaging

  • 100 ml glass bottle with aluminum screw cap.
  • 250 ml PET crystal bottle with aluminum screw cap.

Environmental tip: Reuse containers after cleaning. Glass bottle is dishwasher-safe.

Precautions for use

Caution: Handle with care and observe safety instructions.

  • H318: Causes serious eye damage.
  • H315: Causes skin irritation.

Precautions :

  • P280: Wear gloves, clothing and eye/face protection.
  • P305+P351+P338: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately and seek medical advice.
  • P302+P352: In case of skin contact, wash with plenty of soap and water.

Environment

For minimum impact:

  • Don't throw away bottles: clean them and reuse them for future home preparations.
  • PET bottles are particularly suitable thanks to their wide opening.
